Technology and innovation is crucial to progress – both in our business, and in our lives.

In addition to our programs that foster curiosity and STEM skills in the community, we are focused on new ideas and data-driven breakthroughs in response to scientific challenges. We go further when we combine innovative ideas from our own people with fresh perspectives from outside our industry. One way we collaborate is through the Woodside FutureLab, harnessing expertise from world-class research institutions, start-ups, entrepreneurs and adjacent leading industries. FutureLab is where we come together to think big, prototype small and scale fast. By harnessing innovation and encouraging a collaborative approach to adopting new technology, we’re helping to shape the right skillsets for the future.

The University of Western Australia - RiverLab

Part of University of Western Australia’s (UWA) Oceans Institute, the Woodside RiverLab initiative is an exciting collaboration between the Woodside FutureLab network and UWA. RiverLab brings together a community of researchers from diverse disciplines, with state-of-the art equipment, to enable unique field measurements and experiments in the Swan River of Western Australia. Woodside also supports UWA through the OceanWorks collaboration, a unique multi-purpose facility at the University’s Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre that is focused on bringing together industry and academia to promote sharing and spark innovation in ocean engineering.

Our Community Partners: Technology and Innovation
