Arts, culture & community

Woodside supports a number of local arts, cultural and infrastructure organisations.
We support multiple initiatives to create opportunities, build local capacity and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the communities in which we operate.

Since 2009, Woodside has committed over $18 million to creating a resilient and more vibrant Karratha. The funds from the Karratha Infrastructure Strategy have been used across nine programs, each delivering essential facilities to the local community. The Karratha Leisureplex is one of the facilities made possible by the Karratha Infrastructure Strategy.

Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company - Next Step Training Program

As the Development Partner of Yirra Yaakin, Woodside continues to assist one of Australia's leading Aboriginal-led performing arts companies to bring quality, contemporary Aboriginal theatre and experiences to audiences regionally, nationally and internationally. Through the sharing of Aboriginal stories and culture, Yirra Yaakin aims to strengthen and promote reconciliation and raise awareness of the Noongar Aboriginal cultural contribution to Western Australian communities.

Woodside Nippers - The Weekend Tradition

The Woodside Nippers Program is an exciting new addition to the longstanding partnership between Woodside and Surf Life Saving WA. A partnership that began in 2012 to help keep beaches safe so we can all enjoy them for generations to come. The Woodside Nippers Program is all about inspiring the next generation of lifesavers and supporting the thousands of volunteers who give up their time to run the Program. Being a Woodside Nipper is all about keeping each other safe, making new friends and having fun. Register today at nipperswa.com.au and watch your child grow a lifetime connection with the surf.

Corporate Volunteering

Woodside proudly supports those who volunteer. In 2005, we became one of the first companies in Australia to introduce paid volunteering leave. Between 2010-2018, Woodside employees volunteered over 60,000 hours valued at A$10.7 million. In 2018, almost 1,500 employees undertook volunteering.
