The University of Western Australia (UWA) is well positioned to revolutionise STEM education and research with construction underway for the new EZONE Student Hub, proudly supported by Woodside.

This exciting new development will enrich UWA’s strong research capability and ensure it continues to be responsive to industry’s current and future needs. It will extend the engineering and technical excellence within Western Australia and ensure a consistent pool of high-quality, broadly educated graduates in the decades ahead.

Executive Vice President Exploration and Technology, Shaun Gregory said the Student Hub is a fantastic concept. “We love the idea of a network of teaching and research spaces aimed at encouraging systems-thinking across all faculty disciplines. We want Perth to become the hub for world-leading science, technology, engineering and maths education and this is certainly a step in the right direction”, said Shaun.

Over the past five years Woodside has contributed $10M towards the EZONE Student Hub development. The Student Hub will be completed before the 2020 academic year.

Woodside has collaborated and partnered with UWA on a range of initiatives, including scholarships, sponsorships and work experience, mainly focused around the areas of geoscience, engineering and leadership. This includes the FutureLab OceanWorks, an exciting collaboration focussed on bringing together industry and academia to promote innovation around ocean engineering.
