Woodside has submitted an Offshore Project Proposal (OPP) to the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environment Management Authority (NOPSEMA) in accordance with the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Environment) Regulations 2009 (Environment Regulations), for activities related to our proposal to develop the Scarborough gas resource.

The Scarborough gas resource is located approximately 375 km west-north-west off the Burrup Peninsula and is part of the Greater Scarborough gas fields.

Woodside is proposing to develop the Scarborough gas field through new offshore facilities connected by an approximately 430 km export pipeline to onshore processing facilities. Our preferred concept is to expand the Pluto LNG onshore facility with a second LNG train.

The public comment period provides an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the OPP, which evaluates the potential environmental impacts and risks associated with activities to be conducted over the life of the proposed offshore Scarborough development.

The Scarborough OPP will be available for public comment from 5 July to 30 August 2019. Woodside invites parties interested in the Scarborough OPP to comment during the eight-week period. A copy of the comments received will be provided to Woodside for consideration.

To view the Scarborough OPP, submit comments or for further information about the OPP process please visit the regulator’s website https://www.nopsema.gov.au/

Woodside’s Scarborough Overview provides detailed information about the proposal. The Scarborough OPP Guidance for Public Comment also explains the OPP process and how to comment.
