Community Investment
Woodside is an active member of the Western Australian community and in other regions where we operate.
Each year we provide financial and in-kind support to a wide range of community groups. This support includes Woodside stand-alone funding, as well as on an equity basis through joint ventures in which we participate. In working with and supporting reputable not-for-profit and community-based organisations Woodside seeks to deliver long-term community benefits. We acknowledge our responsibility to shareholders in the allocation of income to these activities and regularly review our citizenship commitments to ensure they align with our business objectives and deliver maximum community benefit.
Whilst Woodside’s current and proposed operations have a predominantly Australian focus, we recognise that each of our communities have diverse needs and aspirations. Typically Woodside community investment activities focus on development (especially of our young people), health, environmental protection and rehabilitation, culture and the arts. Internationally, Woodside assists local communities through education, small grant and capacity building programs. These commitments are additional to Woodside's contribution to local and national economic development through its business operations. |
