Working with Indigenous Communities

Woodside sets out to build enduring relationships with neighbouring indigenous communities that are based on mutual advantage, sustainability and long term commitment.

Indigenous communities are important stakeholders and we will ensure proper consultation and understanding of their interests and involvement in our projects.

One of our key initiatives is to improve our existing relationships with the indigenous people of the Pilbara and Perth Metropolitan area through the provision of employment opportunities, support for capacity building programs, and creating opportunity for indigenous businesses.

The principles and practices that develop in the Pilbara and elsewhere will be adapted and applied to our other operational areas in Australia, Timor-Leste and Africa.
