Our Support
Our Community Investment program has two main categories – partnership or sponsorship.
Many people ask us what the difference is between these categories. Simply put:
- Partnerships relate to initiatives with a program of activities, multiple features and outcomes in its delivery. An integral part of a partnership is its ability to make a measurable difference in the community. This involves Woodside working with community organisations on projects of shared interest that result in shared benefits
- Sponsorships are event type activities. The initiative should immediately address an issue or opportunity within the community and provide Woodside with opportunities beyond brand recognition
We also invest in the community through supporting:
- scholarships to develop capability in our industry, including work on Woodside projects
- industry initiatives which can include staff time on Boards and industry panels, specific skills related programs such as operator entry courses, and a range of Indigenous school based traineeships. These are typically additional to an existing partnership
- staff volunteering so our employees can give their time during work hours for one day a year. This is typically linked to our partnerships and sponsorships. Employees often form groups to tackle a suitable project at one time
- workplace giving to allow staff to choose to donate part of their salary each month to not-for-profit organisations. Our staff donate more than $100,000 per annum
