Community partnerships

Each year Woodside receives several hundred requests for support from community groups.

Careful consideration is also given to a large number of submissions received on behalf of the North West Shelf Venture and to which Woodside and its joint venture partners each contribute one-sixth of costs.

In working with and supporting reputable not-for-profit and community-based organisations Woodside seeks to deliver long-term community benefits.  We acknowledge our responsibility to shareholders in the allocation of income to these activities and regularly review our citizenship commitments to ensure they align with our business objectives and deliver maximum community benefit.

Typically Woodside community partnership activities focus on development (especially of our young people), health, environmental protection and rehabilitation, culture and the arts.

We encourage collaboration between our partners so they can build on each other's strengths.

Flagship initiatives include support for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Ngala, Surf Life Saving WA and the University of Western Australia.

Internationally, Woodside assists local communities through education, small grant and capacity building programs.  These commitments are additional to Woodside's contribution to local and national economic development through its business operations.
