Woodside is the largest operator of oil and gas production in Australia. We are also Australia's largest independent dedicated oil and gas company.
Based in Perth, Western Australia, we have major operational assets and exploration and development interests in four continents.
We operate Australia’s largest resources project, the North West Shelf Project in Western Australia, which produces about 40 per cent of Australia’s oil and gas.
The North West Shelf Project is one of the world's premier LNG facilities, having delivered more than 3200 LNG cargoes since 1989. In 2008, Woodside commissioned the fifth LNG processing train at its North West Shelf facility.
We began production from Pluto LNG in 2012, bringing our share of equity LNG production to 6.6 million tonnes. At full capacity Pluto LNG will add more than 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day to our operated production.
We are seeking to expand Pluto LNG and also progress new developments including Browse LNG and Sunrise LNG.
Woodside's oil fields (owned and/or operated) in the Exmouth Basin, North West Shelf and Timor Sea produced about 16 million barrels in 2011. We operate four floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels at these fields.
In the United States, we have a portfolio of deepwater and shallow water exploration and production titles in the Gulf of Mexico, including the Neptune oil and gas project.
Woodside is the dominant offshore exploration operator in Australia, holding permits that cover over 115,000km2. We also hold exploration interests in the Republic of Korea, Brazil and Peru.
