Sustainability Awards

Woodside’s Sustainable Development Awards recognise employees who have made an outstanding contribution to our sustainability as a company, demonstrating excellence and commitment to the Business Principles.

Each category winner receives A$5,000 to donate to their nominated charity. The overall winner is recognised with the Woodside Chairman’s Excellence Award and receives an additional A$10,000 for donation. A People’s Choice Award is also voted by Woodside staff, encouraging peer recognition of team achievements.

In 2011 the Chairman’s Excellence Award was presented to a combined effort in the environment category: “Long term investment in beneficial environmental partnerships with the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the Western Australian Museum” and “Marine seismic surveys at Scott Reef – performance driven approvals” The People’s Choice Award was presented to the “Reliable Materials Management Project”.

Our 2011 category winners were:
  • Economic Contribution - Reliable materials management project
  • Health & Safety - Major loss of containment improvement across Production Division
    Innovation & Technology - Advanced 3D Wave Basin Modelling for Optimisation of Pipeline Rockberm Designs
  • Environment - Long term investment in beneficial environmental partnerships with the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the Western Australian Museum and Marine seismic surveys at Scott Reef – performance driven approvals (combined entries)
  • Leadership & Capability - Native Title Agreement
  • Sustainable Communities – iCARE
We had two new awards in 2011, recognising our future talent:
