The health and safety of our people is paramount in all our decisions.
We believe that attaining world-class performance in health and safety is critical to the success and sustainability of our business.
At Woodside, we expect all employees and contractors to contribute to building and sustaining a culture that delivers a healthy, safe and productive work environment to achieve our aspiration of ‘no-one gets hurt, no incidents’.
Our strong focus on process safety ensures risks are managed at all our operated facilities. This involves making the safety of our people inherent in the design phase, through development and into the production lifecycle.
Our behaviour framework, called Our Safety Culture, helps everyone, including our contractors, understand how they can play their part in strengthening Woodside’s safety culture. We believe it is important to engage contractors and suppliers who share our values, and we work with them to meet our health and safety expectations.
In 2013, we will begin implementing measures to achieve global top quartile health and safety performance by 2017. This includes adopting a new corporate performance indicator with specific measures for process and personal safety, based on global benchmarks.
