The Vincent oil project is scheduled to produce first oil in 2008.
Vincent was discovered in 1998 and is about 50km north-west of Exmouth, off North West Cape in Western Australia.
Vincent will be developed in phases, with an initial project cost of about US$720 million (A$1 billion).
It will produce about 100,000 barrels a day through eight production subsea wells connected to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO).
The vessel will have a storage capacity of 1.2 million barrels.
