The community engagement program for the Pluto LNG Project includes holding regular meetings with the Karratha Community Reference Group, Indigenous groups and other key stakeholders.

 

The Karratha Community Reference Group provides an opportunity for community discussion and information exchange about the Pluto LNG Project. The group includes members from a range of community and business representatives, non-government organisations, and local and state government officials.
 
Community services and infrastructure are key elements of the project’s investment in Karratha, particularly in relation to education, childcare and health services.

 

The Pluto LNG Project’s Indigenous community investment program will be focused on supporting projects related to Aboriginal culture in 2008. The program provides activities for art and youth development, as well as opportunities to celebrate and preserve indigenous culture and language.

 

A Social Impact Study has been prepared for the Pluto LNG Project, which identifies potential impacts on the local community and associated management strategies. Issues with high significance and requiring specific management include housing and accommodation, training and workforce planning.
