The Otway gas project in southern Australia started production in September 2007.
Gas is extracted using the remotely operated Thylacine platform and brought to shore via offshore and onshore pipelines to the gas processing plant located north of Port Campbell. Condensate and liquefied petroleum gas will also be produced at the plant.
Over the life of the plant, the Thylacine and Geographe fields are expected to produce 950 billion cubic feet of raw gas, (equivalent to 885 petajoules of natural gas), 12.2 million barrels of condensate and 1.7 million tonnes of liquid petroleum gas.
