Maxima 3D Marine Seismic Survey
As part of Woodside’s appraisal studies for the Browse LNG Development, a three-dimensional (3D) marine seismic survey (Maxima 3D MSS) over an area of approximately 362 square kilometres of Scott Reef, has been undertaken.
The survey commenced on 22nd September 2007 in Commonwealth and State waters inside the lagoon of South Scott Reef, the deep water channel separating North and South Scott Reef, and the deep water surrounding North and South Scott Reef.
Data from the Maxima 3D MSS will provide Woodside with important knowledge about the amount of gas in the Torosa field and insights into the geological structure of the field.
The survey required environmental approval and conditions were set regarding its timing. Further details can be found below.
